splatspit needs money! splatspit needs to get some gear! splatspit wants to do some break beat stuff! splatspit is whining too much! *sigh* Money, that damn piece of paper that everyone needs! Some say it's the route of all evil but I say screw that shit and I need it badly! I guess I'm considered lucky in many ways already but nothing seems to satisfy us. Enough with the money issue and let's start on todays real topic which would be MUSIC! The only thing that brings people together.

I've always wanted to buy more albums but then again MONEY is always stopping me. hehehe! Ok le, enough with the money thing. I just feel like posting a number of albums that I've been listening to again and again without having them to bore me to death. So let's start off with the first genre, Electronica/Dance music.

1. The Crystal Method albums (Vegas, Tweekend, Legion of Boom)
- bestest 3 albums that I've ever bought in my life! The most played CD in my car! heh! Enough said! :D

2. Chemical Brothers (Exit Planet Dust, Dig Your Own Hole)
- when it comes to Chemical Brothers, I just simply adore the layers of raw sounds combined into it although its just playing around with sound samples, you'll still here alot of warmth in every track. Sweetness.

3. Moby (Play), Propellerheads (decksdrumsandrockandroll)
- Play, simply has alot of blues elements in it and decksdrumsandrockandroll is just simply groovy!

Done with Electronica and now, ROCK! Something that I love listening to when I'm really in the mood to shout a long with! hahaha! I guess Nirvana is the one that gave me the biggest impact those days and I'm sure it did to everyone else. Then there was Korn and Green Day. Those were the days...

1. Filter (Amalgamut)
- one CD that I didn't regret buying! It's more of a sing-a-long CD for me. Whether it's just singing gibberish without knowing the lyrics, this damn album rocks!

2. White Zombie (Astro Creep 2000)
- an album that I've been listening to since in 1997? 96? Although I haven't got myself a copy yet, a few of us like Sow, Zing and Rozhan love head banging to this hardcore industrial shit! NOTE: Never listen them while you're looking for a place that you're not sure of. I got my reasons for that due to extreme headbanging sessions. LOL!

3. Korn (Korn, Life is Peachy), Gunn 'N' Roses, Rage Against the Machine
- till now, Korn simply amazes me because of its raw sounding tracks and weird ass tunes, GNR the bestest band that will kick me into EMO mode. RATM, just love jamming along with their songs.

After having alot of exposure to Rock my dad introduced to me Jazz! Yeap, he was the one who actually got me into it during the Phillips Jazz Fest at Stadium Putra. Can't remember which year was it but it was the year when Diana Krall and Sadao Watanabe performed.

1. John Scoffield (uberjam)
- thanks to Az because he was the culprit who got me hooked on to this damn album. I love John's guitar tone because it was really unique. It has this damn clashing note sound that sounds really nice plus it was an experimental album with alot of electronica elements into it.

2. Umezu Kiki Band
- got the album when they were performing in Atmosphere Twelve SI and I was there with Melvin during the show. This band has loads of rock into their jazz which is really mind blowing. Also, I think Umezu, the saxophonist, is one of the best I've ever heard. He does alot of shredding on his saxophone just like a guitarist would. Japs I tell, CRAZY MUSICIANS!

3. Other Jazz Standards
- no matter how old one song may be for jazz, jazz standards have always been a favourite for musicians. The best thing that you can get from jazz, having people playing jazz standards in different grooves and styles, may it be swing, latin or funk.

Not to forget our local acts such as, Estranged, Love Me Butch, Tempered Mental, Naked Breed, Az Samad, Shelley Leong, Groove Unction, Double Take, etc. are a number of bands that I love listening to as well. Sadly, they don't get much recognition compared to international acts.

I think I've just wrote my longest post ever and these are just my own opinion about them. Well it's up to you all to judge your own favourite since music is subjective. :) Till then, let the music feed your soul! Woohoo! :D
