Bands Wanted...

Anyone out there who has a band, there's a slot for you to perform at Groove Junction on Wednesdays. Please contact Jose Thomas (guitarist for one of the greatest fushion jazz bands in Malaysia, Groove Unction) at 017-362-0750 to set a day for an audition. Bands that play blues, funk, jazz, raggae and alternative rock... well basically nothing that's too heavy and loud if you know what I mean, are welcome. :)

You know what? To know if your band is suitable for the venue you might as well just pop by Groove Junction tonight and check the place out. Groove Unction will be playing tonight. Come with an open heart and ask Jose about the Wednesday slots and suggestions. It's really that simple. :) Time to start experimenting with your own music and bringing it down to a nice, chill, relaxed beat. SO DON'T BE SHY AND COME!!!.. heh...

It's been awhile...

Last night, a night that brought back a lot of memories. Memories of me going to a jazz gig alone and just enjoying the music while sippiing down a glass of wine. I haven't been doing this for ages. Groove Junction is now officially my second home! :) Having to see familiar faces again, catching up with them, bringing back stories from the past, talking about music all night long, cracking up silly jokes and sarcasms, I actually felt like I was back in time.

Reza had his performance there the night before and it sounded good. Better than what I was expecting and for once I didn't have to worry about the sound. I even had the time to just sit back and relax! Wasn't doing sound for his show, was just there to help out making sure eveything goes well. Hell, even the main sound guy, Alex, didn't have much to do during the show! Having to do a soundcheck focusing on one band, trying to figure out the best way to make them sound good and achieving it really hits me hard. I just love working with his band.

For those of you who just love listening to good music, I really suggest that you head down to Groove Junction, get yourself something to drink, sit back and just enjoy. Groove Junction is at hartamas behind True Fitness. Once you're there look for Bojangles and take the stairs or the elevator on your right to the first floor.

Brain dead...

My internal clock is screwed up big time. Having to sleep at 6am in the morning everyday and waking up at 12 noon is no fun. Been struggling with my damn assignment which I hate doing. Pushing myself everyday and trying not to lose focus is a difficult thing for a person who thinks too much. 21st May is closing in and I've been having weird ass dreams of me getting on to the plane, going to the airport, taking a train to australia (don't ask me how?), me being there and more.

Hopefully everything goes well since it hasn't been a good year for me in general. Just want something that will work out fine for once. Hate this damn feeling of being stressed out knowing that somethings you just can't fix even though you've tried really hard to do so. Not sure what to expect when I get my ass to Melbourne. People have been telling me a lot of great things about Melbourne and it will definitely suite my lifestyle. Looking forward to it but at the same time not trying to paint a better picture for myself. Being 26 this year really hits me hard. So all the best to me and we'll just see what happens next month. Nothing is confirmed at the moment. :)
